Whether it’s a child on a local soccer team, a weekend runner, or an NFL linebacker, Dr. Brandon Mines is passionate about advancing the treatment, management, and prevention of sports-related injuries and concussions. This focus defines his clinical practice at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex, along with his expertise in ultrasound imaging.

As a board-certified family and sports medicine physician, Dr. Mines has extensive experience across various sports. He has served as the Head Team Medical Physician for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, also acting as the team’s concussion specialist, Head Team Physician for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, Co-Head Team Physician for Overtime Elite (OTE), and Associate Team Physician for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. Additionally, he has been a rotational physician for US Soccer and currently works with collegiate athletes as the Medical Director for the athletic department at Clark Atlanta University.

A frequent lecturer on treating sports-related injuries, particularly concussion diagnosis and management, Dr. Mines is actively involved in research and education on these topics.

Dr. Mines also mentors’ teens in underserved communities as a member of the 100 Black Men of America and volunteers as a supervising physician for local high school and soccer clubs in Atlanta. He is the current Medical Director for Partnership with Proactive Health, where a team of healthcare professionals optimizes health like they do for elite athletes. This team-based care includes physicians, trainers, therapists, dietitians, and counselors, who work together to keep individuals at their physical and mental peak. They get to know individuals when they are healthy and support them in achieving their health goals.
